What is it?
At our heart, we are all deeply social creatures and intuitively, we know why community is important. Yet it is incredibly hard to summarise what community is. Perhaps we can borrow Brian Solis' eloquence - "Community is much more than belonging to something; it's about doing something together that makes belonging matter.".
Why it matters.
Despite the unrivalled population density of today's world many of us are more isolated than ever before. As social cohesion drops we see rapid increases in crime, mental health issues and general disorder - from littering to graffiti.
What you can do.
Funding projects that promote community is a special experience because you soon become a part of the community yourself. With many projects available, from cycle training to garden allotments - you can choose an area that you, your team and your customers are passionate about. When communities thrive they often go on to be much bigger than any of us could imagine!
